Rocker Panel Treatment
My rocker panels have a few small blemishes (dents). Nothing significant and the paint is ok. I've been struggling with ideas to cover these up, rather than fixing and repainting. My ideas are;
Paint the panels a contrasting color maybe even hammerite paint. Camo decal treatment. Rino liner. Chrome accent panels. I have not been enthused about any of my ideas yet. Any other suggestions here? |
it would cost some coin, but id line-x from the lower half of the doors down.
|
x2 on the line x it will look good and protect from rust and rocks chipping the paint
|
Isn't line x about the same as rhino liner :humm:
|
yea it is same concept, but line-x tends to be not as globby and rough and wont fade.. or so they say... :humm:

i did a liner on my 99 powerstroke since i took the side moldings off and it peeled the paint i just taped it off and used a DA with 80 grit and got it sanded down then did a coat then let it tack uop then other about 4 times or so it worked good looksed good and lasted even in winter it held up good

I used Dupli-Color on mine, and I don't suggest it. It "globs" pretty bad and holds a lot of dirt. It is also water based, making it tricky to apply, and needs to thouraly cure before seeing any moisture (rain, car wash, etc.).

I have been to a shop that sprayed line x and rhino liner. the line x is much harder and much less flexible. and like every one else said line x is a bit smoother than the rhino liner.

i got the dupli color stuff to it said it was textered it wasnt really thin i used hurcaliner worked good

Sounds like I've covered the options you guys have suggested. I'm leaning towards Hammerite paint in grey. Very tough hammered finish. And pretty cheap. Can re-coat down the road as necessary.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- The other thing I thought would look cool is a decal material that is black diamond plate pattern. |
