shakes when turning off. problem?

ok im sure ill look like a dumbass, but this is my first cummins..

when i turn off my key and the trucks dying down, it shakes really hard. is this normal or what? it will slap the door back and fourth if i open the door a little haha

my friends 04 cummins shakes, but not as hard. is it just the 2nd gens that shake this hard or what? :argh:

im sure this is a stupid question, but just making sure nothing's wrong

If it aint shakin then you aint got a cummins, mine does it every time. it normal. your pistons are still travling 800 RPM when you cut the fuel so they are still turning... All my friends 24 Valves shake kinda hard, you can see mine shut off it kinda leans to the right, on shut down and start up.

haha the first time it did it it scared me cause my girlfriend opened the door halfway and it slapped the door jam :scare2:

well good glad to know it wont hurt anything.

it was hard to get into gear today. i backed out of a parking space then pressed the clutch, and when trying to put it in 2nd it wouldnt go in there.. i had to back up another inch or 2 then it would.. :ouch: i have no luck. or im just dumb :w2:

maybe your about due for a new clutch.... or your still having to get a hang of the dodge 6 speed... My dad had a heart attack when he rode with me to my grandparents when I was visiting, thought my motor mounts were bad..:argh: he just doesnt know the strength of a cummins...:c:

i hope im not due for a clutch... i have heard it grinding some when going around a turn in 2nd gear and giving it gas..

ive got the hang of it pretty well but i swear i couldnt get it to go in the for life of me. after backing up 2-3 inches it went just fine

RanchhandTCR 09-30-2012 10:22 PM

it happens sometimes I think...
