Fuel Guage Calibration
Ok guys I was just wondering if there any way to calibrate the fuel guage/ sending unit, I know its not correct since it doesnt move off full for the first 7 gallons and then hauls @$$ till the last quarter tank, I was just wondering, just fixing the stupid stuff on my truck now lol

I don't believe so, it works off a float, it may be going out or the float could be hanging up.
My sending unit has been out so long that I don't even remember how they act. I just go by mileage. |
LOL yea I dont think its going out, but if its an easy calibration then I would give it a try, if not Ill wait till the day I have to drop my tank, which I dont see in the near future! so I guess screw it and move on looking for a set of driving lights! just trying to fiqure out how to hook em up to come on with my brights:humm: Im not an electrical designer I just now how to find wires and tear em out and put em back in lol So far I think Hella 500 Halogens are the winners....

ive seen ppl take the float and bend it and try to get it right or the little slide thing on the float maybe wore off like my gfs 2000 chevy

If it was as easy as take the float out, I would either try, or just get a new one but I dont think I can get it out without droping the tank.. |
Ranchhand on those lights you'll want to get a 5 pole relay. Poles 87 and 87a go to + on the lights, tie 86 into one of your brights, 85 is ground, and 30 is + battery. Also put a 20amp fuse between battery and relay. Those Hellas should come with the relay, fuse, and plenty of wire unless you're getting them used.

Find it at the wire harness pluged into the back of the head lights. I don't know which wire off the top of my head. If you have any probs finding it, let me know and I'll probe my wires.

guess I could pull the bulb out and see huh?? lol

You don't have to pull the bulb. Disconnect the harness and probe the wires with a test light while someone is flashing the brights for you.
