What is this light for?
1 Attachment(s)
This is a new truck to me. It has 83,000 miles with one previous owner. I was talking to another dodge owner that was talking about a mechanic that put a light to tell him if his lifter pump is bad. I was wondering if this pump was replaced already with a hopefully better one. Anyway what is this light for? My other gas job Dodge pick ups never had it. Attachment 37270

It could be a low pressure fuel light. Is it on while the key is on, engine not running, but off when the engine is running?

I will check it out but I have never noticed it on. If it is a low fuel pressure light is it an added mod? Would this indicate a previously replaced pump maybe?

it could be a aftermarket alarm

I do have little lights on my truck that are like that for the alarm.

It's one of two things. It is either a low fuel pressure light or an aftermarket alarm system light

Look at the top of your fuel filter housing. There are two 1/8" NPT plugs on top for accessing fuel pressure. If there is a sending unit screwed into the one nearest the motor, it's a low pressure light. It's the plug the wrench is on in this picture:

Or it could be a replaced banjo bolt going into the IP
