fuel pressure issue

was towing a trailer and got back to town and my fuel pressure started dipping randomly. it would be at 15 then drop to 5 back up and down to 7 and up and down to 2 and so on. Its the electronic gauge that goes on the end of the banjo bolt on the vp for the edge. so i hooked up my mechanical one to the back of the fuel filter and it reads a steady 15 even when the other one dips. would the electronic one have gone bad?? theres no leaks anywhere that i can see. any input appreciated. thanks

possible clogged fuel filter? my iss-pro sending unit is on the outs but it either works or doesnt, no weird behavior like you mention

i wouldnt think so for where the mechanical one is hooked up. i still have the stock fuel filter in line with the fass and thats where its hooked up to on the back of the stock one. im guessing around 8k miles on it. i would think my mechanical one would act up too if it wasa bad filter. thats where im kinda thinking its in the electrical sending unit itself

Are you running a snubber or or anything to dampen the pulses of the vp pump?I've heard they can kill the sending units on electric gauges pretty quick.
