possible tranny problem?

i have 3.55 gears in my truck and whenever i get around 45-55mph the tranny tries to downshift and then it'll go right back. i figured out that this really only happens whenever the trans temp is over 170. so my question is, is there anything wrong with my tranny, anything i can do to keep my trans temp lower?
any help will do thanks

any ideas on what it could be?

well, ill be the first one to answer.. im sure other guys will chime in.. could be a TC lockup switch.. theres also an APPS noise isolator that BD diesel sells. it fixes RF interference from the APPS circuit, which could be causing your issue.. heres a link to what im talking about.. i think they run like 25 bucks or something like that.. may be a good try.. i think ive seen them on ebay. hope this helps

170 sounds fine. Trans oil goes from the trans to a heat exchanger. Engine coolant warms the trans oil (upwards of 190*), then it is sent to the cooler at the front to cool down a bit.

Almost sounds like a torque converter lock up issue. Any codes?

I have not checked for any codes. What do yall mean by it could be a lockup switch? What exactly does a lockup switch do? Is it better for it to be locked or unlocked?

so you guys think that noise issolator could help out my problem?

It could. The rewire is a lot cheaper, and may fix the problem. I would start with that. You may also want to do an APPS reset, and relearn. If you search this site for those two procedures, you'll find a write up.
