Default tranny swap
will a automatic tranny from a 1996 12v cummins work on my 2001.5 24v manual 6 speed?

i may be wrong but i think NO! because you need computer to run tranny and 12 valve comp is difrent, but anything is posible if you have time and money

Thats a 47rh and requires no computer. You will have to make either switches or something similar to run lockup and od otherwise you will not be able to use either without a computer from a 12v

96 and up 12 valves had 47re. You can run a 47re you just need a pcm. More work than it's worth if you ask me just keep the 5600
