Non IC trucks have diaphragm vaccuum pumps which must be removed from the engine with the PSP. If the truck has the rotary style it can stay on the engine however it may be easier to remove it together and then separate it from the PSP. But as I was saying, if it's diaphragm style, it must be removed together and then the gear must be pulled to separate the two pumps.

to take it off there are four bolts on the backside of the powersteering pump mounting it up, take the one on the bottom drivers side off first so it wil release because there is a bracket down there. next there are two bolts on the other side of that silver connector piece the ps pump is mounted too. take those off and take off the lines and the sensor on the side of the block and slide it off then remove the rest of the bolts holding that connector and ps pump together. ive replaced it five times till i just replaced the whole system to fix everything. message/email me if there are any more questions. btw idaho guy, where are you at in idaho??
