full fuel screw bottomed

hey guys im wondering if any of yall can help me i have the longer fuel screw and i can still bottom it out without a run away. doesnt feel like it gets full fuel caus im only running 27psi with ddp stage 3's and they dont smoke as much as i would expect out of a 150hp injector if anyone has an idea of what could be wrong with it. i also installed the low pressure piston lift pump so it wouldnt run out of fuel but im not sure whats going on:dang:

I'm having similar issue with longer screw but my truck is otherwise. Buti didn't feel any gain bottoming out the longer screw. I haven't cut the collar off the stock screw yet but thinking about trying the stock screw to see if there's something different with he longer screw.

What's your fuel pressure like? also hows the fuel filter?

gregt1989 04-05-2012 10:30 PM

Haven't bought I fuel gauge yet I'm gonna get one next my fuel filter is less than a year old

Chempowr 04-05-2012 10:35 PM

My filter is new. No pressure check yet

I had to pull out my screw and weld an 1/8th in. tit on the end of it to achieve runaway. and that was after cleaning up the threads. with the pump all the way up and ddp's that lppp wont be enough to hold pressure. mine would drop to ( 0 ) those ddp's 3's should black out the highway :choochoo::choochoo:(( the stock screw wont go in far enough because, the factory crimps the threads so they cant thread in to far.))

Nice to know. Thanks. I will check lift pressures under ull power soon.

I bought the extended screw but it still didn't seem much longer than stock but it definitely doesn't black out a highway so I was thinking it was not enough fuel especially since I'm only seeing 27lbs of boost

tower_ofpower 04-06-2012 11:59 AM

The "extended screw" refers to the last half of the screw for "easier" adjustability. From tit to o-ring should be the same length as your original full power screw. I'd compare the two and see if there is a difference or not. Then go from there.

They were the same length I checked when I put it in and was like wtf lol so you think I should do that weld on the tip?

tower_ofpower 04-06-2012 05:20 PM

Try chasing the threads of the screw with the correct die and run the old screw in to see if it bottoms out in the same spot

I don't think the threads were bad on that side just the other side where they welded the nut

tower_ofpower 04-06-2012 07:38 PM

I was meaning, chase the extended screw. I haven't had any issues out of mine

Chase what? There's nothing more to chase all the threads are good it bottoms out to the oring just no runaway

crewcab59 04-06-2012 10:06 PM

what (tower ofpower)is saying......In the stock screw, the threads are flattened so you cant run it all the way in......if the after market one has good threads then the end is not going down far enough to push on what ever it pushes on (haha). I cleaned up the threads and it was not far enough. so i extended the smooth end an 1/8th inch......most likely you have the same problem. good luck :choochoo::choochoo:

gregt1989 04-06-2012 10:59 PM

I didn't notice this flat spot on the original either but I'll try doing that weld see if it does anything because I really think these things should be way more smokey and lots more power

The_Head 04-07-2012 11:25 PM

Some pumps are weak and will not respond to a longer fuel screw.

Chempowr 04-07-2012 11:26 PM

Wouldn't you still have runaway at idle?

gregt1989 04-08-2012 10:37 PM

I have the lpplp but I think I still may be running it low so I'm gonna get a fuel gauge and see how low it goes at full fuel
