Draw straw cherry
Popped my draw straw cherry today, never had a low fuel issue with the draw straw, 3/8 of a tank blew it around and grabbed a little rubber in dicks parking lot, about 300 feet thru the lot low oil pressure light came on... Old girl stalled on me. Picked fuel back up on its own after some cranking, I was almost positive my fuel shut off solenoid crapped the bed on me. :argh: glad it was something simple, I was NOT going to be happy if I got stuck in a parking lot.

How did you cut yours, just wondering?

Measured from top of sender to basket bottom cut it to length then notched the end like a rook chess piece.

Yea thats how I cut mine besides I didnt use the basket I used a quarter (.25 cents) for a gap reference with the tank basically empty. I havent ran mine very low since I put it in but im hoping my method works good.

Like i said, I've ran the thing down to 1/8 tank and never had an issue with low fuel, horsing on it around a sharp turn and apparently made it uncover the straw. But see my basket which is "supposed" to hold fuel in it is missing the trap door because it has a 3/4" hole that will let the fuel run right out of the basket; not just in.

I usually start thinkin about fuel at about 3/8, I don't want to mess around priming my truck :c:

Yeah I was lucky it picked it back up in its own since I didn't have any tools with me, would have been real cool lol.

Did it to me again, this time with half a tank. Seriously thinkin it's time for a bottom sump and Teflon coated braided stainless lines... This time it stranded me since I didn't have tools.

Polyperformance.com has baffled boxes that you put in a tank and duck bill shaped pick up with -AN fitting... Been looking at them... Far from cheap tho
