A Different Idea

OK gentlemen, here is my conundrum. I need an electric lift pump for my truck, but no cash. I've got an in-tank gasoline electric pump from a '91 Dodge D150, powered by a throttle-body fuel injected 318. Fuel pump is rated at 14.5 PSI max according to Mitchell 1 OnDemand v5.

I have confirmed that it pumps heating oil, but I don't have a fuel pressure gauge plumbed into the output side(yet). 1st question.....is heating oil thicker than diesel fuel? My 2nd question is has anybody else tried this? Thank you guys for any advice!

You would need to regulate it down to about 8psi or less.

At 14.5 psi your fine. The VE can handle that without any issues.

It's like flipping a coin, some hold it some don't... Most will hold anything 15 an under.
