Starting issues
I have been having starting issues for a little bit of time now. I know the weather has been colder in the northeast but it hasent been horrible. I had the injection pump taken off and seal put behind and ever since then in 50 degree temps the truck carry's on like crazy. Its an 89 5.9 motor ve pump no mods, no ic.
It just cranks and cranks wanting to try to start puffing white smoke everywhere.... eventually maybe 2mins of total crank time. After it starts it smokes like crazy just sitting there for about maybe 5-8 mins. Still white smoke. Once its warmed up and going its fine. Also it will do the same thing if its been sitting for a few hours. I guess i will see what happens when the warmer temps come.... |
Is your grid heater cycling? And is your ksb hooked up?

^^ I forgot to mention... i dont have glow plugs. I am assuming that would be the major cause of the starting problem.

Hmm well since its in a Chevy, and my motor came out of Blue Bird Bus. I am assuming this isnt here. I have to do some research i guess unless anyone can point me in a direction to go. Thanks for you help man!

Its a 6bt right? Look under your air horn itll have two wires running out of it when its cold can you hear them click on and draw down the battery? Unless it wasnt hooked up when it was swaped.
