putting exhaust brake on

Hi all you diesel nuts! I own an old 91 1ton cummins. I might be getting an old used pacbrake inline exhaust brake off ebay. it has the vacuum selanoid. What all do I need to install it? I want to put it under the cab instead of right behind the turbo, but I have a couple of exhaust leaks at the end of the down pipe.:td: So, will a couple of small leaks make much difference, and will it work just as good that far back?

The leaks have to be fixed or you will lose all your backpressure. You will also need the HD valve springs (60#) to help with the retarding performance, other wise you can only safely put 30psi on the engine without valve float. If the truck is an automatic your only going to have retarding in the lower gears for a short period of time.

Hope this helps, and if you need the part number of the valves springs let me know.

Regards,
Hector
