Should I buy this truck??

I found at my local used car lot a 1993 Dodge 350 extended cab with the Cummins engine and automatic overdrive. I have test drove it twice, and it feels like a pretty nice truck. Looks as if it has lived in a garage its whole life. It is a 2wd dually with only 67,000 miles on it verified by "Auto Check".

They are asking $8,500 for it. It looks like new on the inside, and just a tiny bit of paint peeling on the hood is the only problem with the body. I am totally new to the Cummins engine, it is the first one that I have ever seriously considered buying.

Is $8,500 a reasonable price? And will the auto trans hold up to some occasional heavy pulling? And is there any problem areas or anything else I need to look for when I look at the truck again?

Tell them you'll give them 7500 if they paint the hood :c:

Buy a 2nd gen for that price. It would have to be mint and is it 2wd or 4wd?

It is 2wd. It looks as if it has lived an easy life. The interior is flawless, and the body just has a couple of very minor things.

I kinda like the looks of the 1st generation trucks. Is there any mechanical reasons that makes the 2nd gen is better?

I would probably sale u my 92 4x4 extended cab for 7000 it has more miles but I would trust it to go anywhere.

More potential for power with free/cheap mods. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though.

The price on first gens has been on the rise so $8500 is in the new ball park. I'd lowball at $5500 see if they bite.
