1991 CUMMINS W250 LIFT????

ok so i have done my shopping around so im not walking into here asking for help without helping myself. so i would like to get a 4' lift, my plan is to fit 33'-34' tires and have it look like a nice good standing truck, at the moment it has a 6' lift on it but all springs are worn out and i need new ones all around. now the issue is that there are only 2 company's that i know about that sell lifts for the first gen diesels. skyjacker sells a 4' but it is a block lift but i need new springs so that does me no good. the second is superlift but again they sell lifts with blocks.

im also trying to stay away from blocks if possible. now i so see that skyjacker makes a 2' lift and everything i need ( 4 new springs and everything else) for like $1300....thats crazy money for only 2'.

im fine with a 2' lift if 33-34's but honestly $1300 is allot for so little considering that the 6' on the same site is the same price

now here is where experts come in, tuffcountry sells a lift. it is the perfect lift for me, it is 4', comes with shocks, springs etc and its for $900......but it says its NOT FOR DIESELS.

stupid question but is that really reason not to buy it?
diesels are only like 300LBS more so wouldnt beefy shocks compensate?
and also would 33'-34' tires fit on a 2'lift?
and of course any help with my situation would be great!!!

just my opinion, i agree with your reasoning, as long as the leaf lenght is the same etc you should be fine. but you more than likely have a dana 60. i am not for positive that gassers had 60's, something to check. the dana 60 has three u bolts- two drivers side and one u bolt with two cap screw/ studs on the passenger side might have something to do with the difference. here is a good site i found - look up sku- 002501 or item#-002501 its Suspension Lift kits, Leveling Kits, Springs, U-Bolts, Shocks, Air Bags, and Towing Products

your funny. There isn't much of a cost difference in producing 2" leafs verses 4" or 6" leafs. If anything, they might even sell less of the small lifts so the production cost would be greater if in smaller numbers.

I have heard of some guys going and getting springs made that will give them the lift they want and delete the blocks. I think they were paying half the price some of these company's want.

As far as i know all the diesels had Dana 70's and the gasers had Dana 60's.

Get a 6" lift spring in the rear and remove the blocks, that'll give you your 4" (if you have a 2" block) I did a 6" all the way around and w/o the blocks te truck was severely pointing up hill. Put the blocks back in and the truck was "level" so from my experience I'd say a 6" rear kit is just a 4" spring plus the factory blocks.

unsure if there are any differences but i am currently running 35- 12.50 after removing fender flares and about one inch shackle lift in front

OK I AM ALSO WONDERING IF I BOUGHT 5' REAR AND FRONT SPRINGS AND TOOK OUT MY BLOCKS WOULD I HAVE A LEVEL TRUCK????

AND TO CUMMINStagetcha19 I CHECKED OUT THAT SITE, EVERYTHING SAID IT WASNT FOR DIESEL EVEN THO I PUT THE FILTER ON

HONESTLY IM NOT HOME TO SEE MY TRUCK, AND THE WAY IM THINKING ABOUT IT IN MY HEAD IT THAT RIGHT NOW THE TRUCK HAS A 6' LIFT, IT HAS LIKE HUGE BLOCKS IN THE REAR AND THE FRONT LOOKS NORMAL AND IT SITS LEVEL, SO IF I BOUGHT 5' SPRINGS FOR THE FRONT AND REAR AND ALL THE SITES SAY I REMOVE MY BLOCK HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE TO HAVE A LEVEL TRUCK?
