building for fuel economy
well im in the proccess of fixing my first gen im getting about 15 to 16 mpg now but i would like to see close to 18 to 20mpg the truck has the starwheel bottomed afc spring mia and a 31/2in straight pipe i have a bhaf ordered for it 727 trans and four wheel drive im just wanting this to mostly be a daily drive that isn't a fuelaholic any advice or experiences thanks

The best setup I've run is
Tighter converter. Stock fueling- Pump settings, injectors. Better intake & exhaust. Drive easy. With that setup I could get 19-21 all day long with a 4wd 518 auto. |
so the stock convertor will yield bad fuel economy im hoping the bhaf will add a little bit

yea i figured that spring wasn't helping see i figured the 727 trans would hurt since your engine is pratically rapping out going 50

Here's my setup:
BHAF HX35 12 cm Turbo 3.73 Gearing, 4x4, 3" lift Timing advanced Fuel turned up a little NV5600 Transmission Gear Vendors 2 cycle oil mixed with each fuel up. At a steady 60-65 mph, I'm seeing 26 mpg average. |
k&n filter, straight pipe, 68-69 mph. i can get 25mpg
