12v Cav IP to VE IP

I have a 12v with a Lucas CAV pump. From all the research I have done and found, I have come to the conclution this is a pump used in industrial stuff like generators. I am wanting to replace the pump with a VE pump. I will be getting new injectors as well. Now my biggest question is, what is needed to bolt it up? Like the gear to spin it? Also are the injector lines the same? I can't seem to find any info on this. Any info would be great.

Thanks

Why do you want to change the IP's? Personally I think it'd be fun driving a truck that has a variable speed governor rather than a min/max.

I think he wants the on road style gov. He's taking the gen set cav pump off and installing the ve right?

Yes. Those are my intentions. I am wanting to put a over the road style pump on the engine. Just looking for info on what is needed to do the swap.

Is the CAV pump you refer to just a similar Bosch VE-type without the AFC?

Or something totally different?

I do not know much about the CAV pump. I have been told by a friend of mine who is a diesel mechanic that the pump is not a good pump. It looks almost the same is a VE but it isn't. I found on Oregon Fuel Injections website that they have the CAV pump classified under the Delphi name too. There really ins't to much information out there on this pump.
