1st gen questions

my truck was in a front end collisions and i have some questions

1. my brake pedal doesn't spring back all the way resulting in the brake light staying on

2. my wait to start light flashes after the truck is running

3. the driver side of the axle slide back on the leaf spring i know i need new u bolts but is there a pin dowel or bolts that sticks through the middle to keep the axle from sliding

lunk 01-18-2012 09:26 PM

there is a bolt for the leaf pack to keep the axle centered and pack together

Your pedal could be going back all of the way but the brake l:w2:ight sensor might need to be adjusted. There should be a pin to keep the axle centered.

ok i didnt know you adjust that switch

ricet07 01-19-2012 08:45 AM

It should be threaded somewhat or grooved to where you can adjust it out and in. I had to do mine awhile back.Let me know if that works.

As far as the wait to start light flashing, it could be that your grid heater is trying to cycle after the truck is running. Not too sure on that one all of my panel lights have never worked.

Flashing for a fault, only time I've had mine flash is when my intake temp sensor is unplugged, may have a faulty intake sensor.

Good deal and good luck with the other problems.

You should take a real good look at the spring leaves themselves for cracks or even broken leaves. That is a pretty typical result after that stuff starts coming apart.
