Bought my 93 dually 4x4 for the driveline, only had 170k, new getrag and new inj pump. I was going to swap it in a mid 80's cc sb dodge srw but went with the superduty as the 93 body was gone. Paid $1800

Simplicity and reliability. Paid $16k for the 91.5 almost 5 years ago, w/53k on the clock. Despite having Skyjacker springs and a very nice new paint job, everyone said I paid way too much for it. Done more mods to it than any other truck I've ever seen or heard of. It is up over 100k miles now and have not had one single problem with it other than a failed water pump, which I would consider normal maintenance.

I'd do it again. :tu:

I don't think you paid to much for it!!
There was one for sale awhile back ago it was the cleanest 1st gen I have ever seen and trust me I have seen alot and by alot I have over 5,000 pics of 1st gens. But this truck was so clean it still had the factory paint, undercoating. There was not 1 flaw about this 1st gen it looked like it just came out of the factory. All the body lines matched up, the carpet was not stained, the headliner was not sagging, there was no cracks in the dash or the factory grille. The body did not have any dents or dings it it neither did the tailgate the front bumper and back bumper were level, the engine even still had the factory paint on it!!
The guy was in texas and he wanted $28,000 for it but I know the person who bought it he was able to talk him down to $21,000 if I had the money I would have bought it!!! Whell I could go on for ever but I think you get the point.

Yup, I'd say depending on the mechanicals and mileage I might give around $20k for that. :tu:

i bought mine because i wanted a truck haha, i had no idea it would turn into what it is now, i never thought i would be addicted to diesels and know as much as i do now. i have done countless speeches and papers in highschool and college about why diesel power is better in every way. i bought my truck with 131,000 miles on it, bone stock, for 3100 bucks my junior year of high school. ill never sell my girl.

My first D250 (the white one) I bought for $2900 in Feb 2010. Cummins trucks were always out of reach for me, but this was affordable. I needed a relief DD vehicle while I worked on my '95 F350 crewcab. It needed an oil cooler, clutch linkage, steering link, rear brakes, and brake booster (hydroboost upgrade).

I liked the 'small' stupid-simple truck for a DD. Nimble, capable, and sooo easy to work on - yet it needed so little despite being a beater. And what it did need was pretty cheap.

Then I came across a '93 W250 Club for sale for $4500 in Jan 2011. Suddenly I realized I'd rather have this than my F350. Done. Bought it for $4000 and sold my F350 for $8000.

August came, and another D250 showed up in the used ads about 100km away for $1000. It had a thrashed ring & pinion. Dragged it home with the W250 and a borrowed trailer.

Then in October, I found a D150 on my street... propane system was on the fritz, and a broken band in the trans. Went in halfers on it with a co-worker for $200 ($100 each). He wants drivetrain, I get body parts. :D

So with the dust settled, I got THREE 1stgen cummins 5spd trucks - and extra parts - for the same money I got for my 95 F350 4x4 crew Powerchoke. :tu::choochoo:

I wanted a diesel for years but like a couple others mentioned the price was out of reach. Had it all lined up to put the motor out of a wrecked one in my 98 3/4 gasser and the deal fell through i.e. my name. Came across this nice 92 ex cab dually 4x4 that I have now and the price was $4000. Drove my 98 across MN then hooked it on behind the diesel and towed it back home. LOL the wife cried the whole 5 hr drive. There isn't one thing I don't like about this truck and it only had 140,000 when I got it. Slowly but surely doin some upgrades and love learnin bout it.
