check the oil cooler by charging them with air under water look for bubbles
for that matter get a cummins manual there 20 bucks and they tell you all the cool stuff to look for i keep one behind my seat
if the oil cooler is bad i have close to 30 of them here

IT REALLY TAKES A SPECIAL FIXTURE TO PRESSUREIZE THE OIL COOLER ON THE OIL SIDE OF THE COOLER AND IT HAS TO BE REMOVED FROM SIDE OF BLOCK TO DO IT. YOU COULD REMOVE IT AND TAKE IT TO CUMMINS AND THEY COULD CHECK IT FOR YOU ALSO POSSIBLY NOW A DODGE DEALER COULD. KEEP PRESSURE AT TEST TO 65-70 LBS, NO MORE !
