vents not switching to defrost
 
cant get the air to come out of the defrost vent ...wondering what makes it switch under there......

Vacuum does the work through actuators, could have a binding door in your plenum. As a "safety" thing in the event you lose vacuum, air is supposed to be routed to the windshield by default for fog control.

Also the "vacuum manifold" that connects to the back of your HVAC control dries out and can wreak havoc on it's operation.

Just take your glove box out and take a look at what goes on behind it. Like tower ofpower said everything is vaccum so you might just have a leak or break in one of the lines.

You should have bought a ford if you wanted this sort of stuff to work dodge kinda sucks in that department
