Not Electrifying

I have a 1992 Dodge d250 with a charging problem, not unlike others I have read about in this forum. Tomorrow being thursday I will try some of the suggested ideas. I've had the alt. tested, replaced the ECM, cleaned the grounds, pulled the dash cleaned the contacts and even used dielectric grease..... my hair is a little thin, my patients even thinner. So until tomorrow, if any of the suggestions posted work, I will give credit where credit is due thank you for all your help, Nomad:

I had a bad problem with this too. Check and see if your wire harness is melted under the hood by the brake booster. I had a thread about this and i will look up what it was called and tell you in a second and maybe you can get some help from there.

Found the answer to not charging

Hello my fellow Dodge friends. Last week I asked for help in struggling through an "Electrifying" problem. After much ado it turned out to be the "speed sensor" known commonly as the "crank sensor" located on the front of the engine (Cummins) at the vibration damper. Seems the ECM needs this signal to verify that the engine is in fact running, and once it is satisfied it sends voltage to the field terminals and charging takes place. So, thanks to all and feathers in your caps, Im happy, my battery is happy even the people at the parts store are happy.... Im off their back,,, thank you again Nomad
