what kind of bucket seats do you guys have

I'm wondering what the best bucket seats I can get for my 93 single cab is. I tryed 402040 2nd gen seat and that did not fit at all

1stGen1990 11-11-2011 12:18 AM

1998 chevy bucket seats with armrests! but requires fabrication as is for most any seat different than a bench seat.

I have SCAT ProCars on mounts I made of 1/4" angle aluminum. They kinda suck, if that's the best that $1000 gets then I would've spent more time looking for used ones. If they are by some miracle still together after 6 years I might change my mind on them slightly.

I have the factory Captains Chairs in my 92. Love em. Don't know if they will bolt right in a reg cab though.

My hunting truck is a 98 Chevy with buckets. The seats are real comfortable too.

I have some Flexsteel bucket seats with a middel seat that the back folds down for a armrest and has a flip out cup holder. They are pretty comfy but its hard to get them back far enough.

Ford bronco seats I pulled out of a truck I was scrapping. Not much to look at, but hey, can't argue with free and not being a bench seat, haha. I would love to get my hands on a set of factory buckets though.

The best part about these seats is the fold/slide on the passenger side. Much easier to get stuff out of/climb into the back now. Not really applicable to a standard cab though.

I've been thinking about putting some low ride low back air ride semi leather seats with arm rest in mine. You can just push a button and them baby's will slam to the floor or air'em up for a comfortable ride cuz we all know these 1st gen's are rough!!! :c:

jwirth 11-11-2011 08:29 PM

I have 2001 40/20/40 in mine. Had to mod the n seat frame some. they sit a little higher then I would like. but I'll fix that when I redo the cab and fit them better.

wyowelder 11-14-2011 07:41 PM

got some 60/40 2nd gen seats in mine, not really buckets but the driver gets a captain seat and that awesome center console to store crap in and lean on while youre driving :tu:

how tall are you guys cause Im 6ft 230lbs and that 97 dodge seat looked like it was gona be way to big for me to fit even if i did go to all the trouble to make it look right

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I think the ramcharger seats are the best option so far. do they bolt right in or do you have to cut and fit? Do you think they have red I love my evil red and black color combo

sweetv8s10 11-15-2011 07:04 PM

I had a ramcharger once and they should bolt in or at least they should in an ex cab but I would think they would in a reg cab as well.

jwirth 11-15-2011 09:33 PM

I'm 6'3 230-240lbs and it is tight. with the 2nd gen seat I have. Legs are close to the wheel. One of my friends is 6'8 and he can't sit up straight in it he'll hit his head on the roof.

big bad diesel 416 11-15-2011 10:38 PM

6,3 260 and I got all kinds of room

jwirth 11-16-2011 01:01 AM

Yeah brice the seat frame you built is better then mine LOL I'm waiting to go all out on the 4 door cab I'm putting on :jump: I can't wait.

1stGen1990 11-22-2011 11:27 AM

I did the same thing basically in mine and built a frame and used the stock sliders from the bench seat. Put them in lower and further back but being a single cab and me being 6'1" it's still a little tight....the subs behind the seat don't help none either lol

swampdonky311 11-24-2011 05:02 PM

6' 4"

im 6 foot four and i have a single cab first gen any of u guys that tall that have bucket seats? do yal fit in it ok? just wanna see so i dont buy some put them in then have to ride uncomfortable and get bounced out of the cab

jwirth 12-09-2011 12:42 AM

Just made new seat mounts for the 2001 quad cab seats I have installed in my 92 reg cab. Had to do a lot of mods to the seat frames and build and mount some what like the one in the link posted. Went to start out doing the mount Big bad diesel posted a link to and found the seat frames are different :argh:

:jump: A lot more room now

I used seats from a 95 Ford in my 93 D250 They have the added benefit of a flip-up center console for a third passenger. I had to make a couple of small mount pieces for the front to get it the correct height/angle. They're also heated and have power lumbar supports! Oh yeah! Don't forget the cup-holders!

Does it matter what year the Ramcharger seats are? Those look really nice!

Want track for passenger bucket

My 93 W250 CLUB CAB has the LE package with bucket seats but the problem is that there is hardly any room behind it for anyone but a kid in the jump seats. But plenty of leg room for passengers in the front passenger seat. So I'd like to add a TRACK to the passenger seat to slide it forward to allow more room in the right rear bucket seat.
Any ideas ? Thx.. Ed.

I recall the front seats on 80s/90s Chevy vans being mounted on a box-type pedestal. The adjustment tracks were located between the seat and the box. Maybe they could be re-purposed?

I used the same seats as 1stgenfarmboy. Mine are from a 1990 RC. My lower back stays happy on long drives.

My '84 RC buckets are more plush and sofa-like. I have yet to drive the thing though...
