Back running
What would cause my truck to run after I shut it off besides the fuel shut off selonoid would timing do it?
No, the only way it would stay running is if it's getting fuel which would have to bethe fuel shut off solenoid
It dosent do it all the time would it still be the fuel shut off or maybe a wire?
I would say a wire. Check and make sure all the connections are good and tight and clean
It started doing this after I was messing with thing around my injector pump so I will check tomorrow.
When you say played with the ip, I'm assuming you turned it up. The reason your truck isn't shutting off with the key is because the increased pressure tore the rubber on the end of the plunger off. Its not a bad thing but it happens. The best fix for that is to gut it and go the shut off cable route or do this Fix your fuel cut-off solenoid - Dodge Diesel - Diesel Truck Resource Forums. That site has a bunch of great knowledgeable people BTW :rocking:.

What I mean by messing with things around my injector pump is I was trying to push in the timing pin and my arm was rubbing things in that area so I dont know if that done it or would the timing pin have something to do with it?
The timing pin wouldn't do anything. A loose wire would cause it to not run or die at random times. It could just be a coincidence that the fss quit right after you worked in that area or something could be messed up in the ignition switch.
Would a spec of dirt make it keep running because it dosent do it all the time and would rotating the motor backwards do anything?
