problems with the pin that rides on the fuel pin
The pin that rides on the fuel pin moves in and out fine by hand but doesn't move when i move the throttle lever. Any idea's?

When going to WOT with the fuel pin out the pin should extend. It WILL NOT return by itself.
Is this whats happening? What have you done to the pump lately.? |
I was putting in a performance fuel pin and my cousin told me to make sure the little pin wasn't sticking. We cleaned it up and moved it back and forth a few times to make sure it didn't stick and noticed when i moved the throttle the pin doesn't go in. I'm putting the engine together on a stand right now so there is no fuel going to it. Does fuel pressure make the pin move in?

The pin moves off of boost reference.

the big pin that you replace moves off of boost reference but does the little one that pokes in from the side also move off of boost or fuel?
|
It moves off the linkage, it will come out (into the hole) when you go to WOT but it wont go back in unless you push it in with something (the fuel pin does this when it moves back up)
|
mine won't go in the hole when i move the throttle arm
|
It probably needs fuel pressure to help it

There is a plug behind the throttle linkage take it out and you can push the pin back in I had a 93 that done that and it took me a while to figure it out but that shoul fix it.
