strange raddling nosie at idle from tranny tunnel
i was letting my truck idle today and when it fully warms up and your at idle it makes a strange vibrating raddle from the tranny tunnel and shakes the hole truck. what could this problem bee? maybe torque convertor or fly wheel?
|
Transfer case linkage/shifter?
|
ive held it in place and it still happens
|
Pilot bearing?
|
ia it possible? i really hope its not that im not in any position to pull the tranny!:dang:

Not real sure I've never messed with an automatic. Everything i own is standard, just thought is throw it out there
|
thanks for the advice found out it is the bolts from the torque convertor to the fly wheel are loose and getting worst i have to do it today

One of the more common driveline failures on automatics is the flexplate. I'd consider installing a better flexplate, as long as you're going in there. The fact that it came loose could also mean the flexplate itself has been compromised and already started a hairline crack somewhere.
At least inspect it very carefully while putting it back together. |
I know its a pita tolook in there but make sure the holes arent hogged out from the bolts being loose. and just for your info the 2nd gen flexplate is no different from 1st except for being shotpeened, which just stress relieves the metals surface.

ya im gonna inspect very well under there and the i pray the flex plate isnt cracked i really dont have the money right now for one:argh:
