I liked the guy in Farm Show magazine that put quick disconnects on his engine block and put a little 12 volt on top of a five gallon bucket. Filled the five gallon bucket full of antifreeze. He'd keep the five gallon bucket in his house next to his furnace, when he was ready to start the truck he'd carry the bucket out, do a quick coolant flush and then start it up with 80 degree coolant inside instead of -10 degree coolant.

Seems like it'd work. :humm:

^^^ funny you brought that up begle ,when i bought my 99 24v it had both heater hoses spliced and extra lines with quick couplers to heat the logging equipment engine to get them to start in the winter,if that didn't crack a hot 53 block I don't know what would:w2:

How cold does it get? Unless your doing short trips around town it should be ok with just the grids. Mine would start right up in 0f morning with a grid heater delete. It was really smokey but still started fairly quick.

Can always cycle the grids a few times before starting it.

I have never had a problem starting mine even when it got -10f out so you should be ok.:tu:

When I'm at college the truck sits for weeks in constant sub zero weather. (northern michigan) Fires right up every time. :c:

Find the nearest outdoor outlet on the building and acquire that spot and plug in for free...
