my truck is charging at 15.1 volts i just put a new battery in because the old one was fried because of the over charging i have had alt and voltage regulator checked they said bolth work fine i was told that i need to put an ajustable voltage regulator on in place of the factory oem voltage regulator on the fire wall has anyone else had this problem and will that solve the problem or just tempararaly fix a bigger problem?:humm:

15.1 shouldnt hurt anything!

well i would like to have it back down to around 13.5 where it used to charge at but ill run it around a bit and see what happens

charging voltage depends on ambient temperature. The colder it is, the higher the charge voltage. maybe a problem with the IAT or wires leading to it.

I had a 93 that charged around 16 all the time and I never had any problems I drove it like that for a year and then I got rid of it.

ya ill leave it alone for now i want to put a dual battery set up in it soon anyways mostly for my sterio but when i do that ill have to redo the whole charging system anyways so it looks correct

Get it fixed before it cooks your new battery I blew a pretty new battery do to those f-ers.

15.1 wont cook your battery!

My battery would swell up whenever I blew a regulator although it put the gauge past the max mark.
