Does anyone know how to make the mirrors for a first gen move out so you can mount whips on them? Otherwise the mount is to close to the bend in the mirror and the whips don't point straight up and down.:argh:

bed of the truck?

Racermt 08-25-2011 06:38 AM

No I would like to mount them on my mirrors.

The mirrors on these trucks are so flimsy that they can barley support themselves. The bed is about the only solid place for one.

You can also install a stainless steel CB antennae support bracket between hood and fender seam. It is a solid setup there as well.

Yeah it used to have one of them on there but i like the look of whips better.

my vote is the 106" whip on the rear bumper. parking garage attendants hate them.

I had duel 102 whips on my old ranger mounted in the bed they hit every thing they looked cool when they where straight but it was a pita to keep straight and not bent. I passed that truck down to my sister so I sold the whips I have a single fire stick now and it's all I need

Yeah my friends got six footers on there ranger and dakota and they hit everything don't look to bad. I ended up grinding the mounts to match the curve, they still lean a little but the trucks not perfect so I don't really care.
