hits idle hard.

gota 93 that falls back to idle hard. it acts kinda like what they act like on a cold morning if you rev it up. it doesnt return to idle smooth. it falls hard then idles. its real agrivating and i wanna fix it. is it just the idle screw needing to be bumped up or is it a sticky gov.?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

also noticed an exhaust leak on bottome of down pipe and a minor AFC leak. what do you all think?

Mine did that and would sometimes not hit idle and die. It turned out the gov was bad and a pump rebuild fixed it right up.

did you rebuild it your self or have it done?

white93 08-21-2011 07:37 PM

I had mine done. Request a price in the vendor section, those guys usually have good deals on stuff.

Robison 08-23-2011 08:10 PM

ill look into that. is there any other possibilitys?

I would check for air leaks in the fuel system. I deleted the fuel heater using the filter stud off an 8.3 cummins. The heater is usually prone to going bad and letting air in. I don't think the afc leak would cause problems but it could. I would make sure everything is in working order before you condemn the pump. If it is the pump then you know that the rest of the fuel system is in goo working order.:tu:
