Only 1 cam bearing?

Is there only a front cam bearing in these engines?

Yep only one!! Seems kinda dumb huh?? If your other bores are messed up you can have them enlarged and install bearings. but for stock it's only got the front

Wow! Something seems wrong with that... :humm:

A lot of smaller and midsized diesels have no cam bearings JD engines for one have none. The cast iron block is pressure oiled and serves as the bearing surface. As long as you maintain some kind of oil pressure it seldom causes an issue, if you loose oil pressure and keep running the cam bearings are gonna be the least of your problems.IMHO:rocking:Rocky

It just seemed weird when i turned the block over to pull out the crank and noticed no rear cam bearing. it makes sense though since the cam turns half the speed of the crank, which is marginal compared to a gasoline engine.
