The 'empty' light is supposed to come on, according to my owners manual, when there's around a 1/5th of a tank left. 30/5=6, or 6 gallons. 30-6=24... I don't know if that is what Dodge was referring to. There was a discussion on this subject over on DTR a while back, and no one that I found had anything less than 30... You're right, you got jipped!

Looks like I'll have to amend my previous statement. ALL Dodge diesel powered trucks of a 1st gen. persuasion have a 30 gallon tank, plus or minus 2, 4, 6 or 8 gallons!

New tire size/ old tire size = approximate new gear ratio to achieve previous mileage and performance

Yep mines a 30 gallons drove around the with a 5 gallon can and drove it tell it stopped. she still only got 23.4 gallons at the pump .2 of a mile away went I filled her. 12.7 MPG towing min of 5000lbs the whole time. (If you do this Don't forget to bring a wrench to bleed the fuel lines opps)

I have a 92 dually and best I have seen with it is 14.5 and that was being really nice to it. Is it just the extra set of tires causing the poor mileage. The sucker runs awesome as it should with only 144,000 miles and dont see any leaks any where. Pump has only been mildly turned up so it has the 165 at the rear wheels I believe. Any thoughts?
