I just got a new bed for my 89. Im sanding and painting it today ill see how it goes but i might do the rest of the truck some time this week.

if i were you before you paint it i would drill out the tack welds and cut out the inner fender well piece in each side of the bed. its probly started to rust up in the inside. take out your rear tail lights and look in there with a flash light and see how it is. id hate to see you paint it and then in a couple years have it rot out because of it. with the inner fenderwell gone you can hose all the dirt off in there and not worry about it rustin out. :tu:

This thing is CLEAN not a spot of rust on it! it was kept in a barn for the past 20 years.:tu:

Hey 89W250 make sure you get the rust out and cover with good primer and paint. All surface rust will turn into cancer( sorry thats what most shops call it) and it will look good for about 4 years. get the rust treamant to get rid of the junk. keep it runnin.
