dually flares

anyone know where to find dually replacement flares? im doing a dually conversion on my 250 and cant find them any where.

1STGENFARMBOY 04-21-2011 04:35 PM

Arrowcraft makes some but i'm not shure how they mount to the bed,

I'm doin a dually conversion right now and i can tell ya this a dually bed is way way different than a SRW bed where the extentions bolt up, it looked like way to much work to get them to look right for me.

I found a bed on craigs list for $350.00 and drove 6 hours one way to get it, right now i'm doin some dent fixin and crack weldin and then paint.

Good luck, they are almost impossible to find. I had to buy a whole truck to get the fenders and one had a chunk missing. I have no idea why nobody makes them.

jdbigblue12v 04-21-2011 11:04 PM

thts dissapointing haha they dont match up right? i think ill just have them made i know a guy who works with fiber glass

smokincummins92 04-21-2011 11:36 PM

The only place I have found that makes them and sales them is Mopar Truck Parts - NOS and Used Dodge Truck Parts - Dodge Truck Parts!! They sell both driver and pass. side! They are about $350 each! You can still get the driver side from mother mopar tho!

jdbigblue12v 04-22-2011 10:17 AM

holy sh*t! 350 each is ridiculous i think ill wait til i come across a parts truck and rip them off!!

HAHA yea thats what I said!! So I bought a dually bed off of ebay for $175 bucks! Its in much better shap than mine pluse I can take my flair and the flair off the bed I bought and make one good one. The driver side flair from dodge is like 200 something.

jdbigblue12v 04-23-2011 02:08 PM

im gonna start looking on ebay! 175?!?!? thats an amazing deal. and yaa one good bed and scrap the other

All in all sounds like a better way if you can find one. About 8 years ago I lost a tread on the outside passenger tire which shredded the fender. The replacement parts ran about $450 for fender + clearance lights, unpainted. I rattle-canned it white to match but still haven't gotten around to drilling and mounting the lights. Thinking about the next tread to go...

I will do ya one better lol point me in the direction of a reasonable priced set of 2nd gen dually fenders and I will sell mine cheap or trade them if you have them. I want the fuller look of the 2nd gen ones to go with my semi bumper. :tu::tu::rocking::choochoo:

what happend to yur paint? it was mint from what i saw and it looks awesome

1STGENFARMBOY 07-09-2011 03:10 PM

It's a daully bed and it needed painted so i figgured i would paint it the color i wanted.

the paint was good but i'm kindofa freek about paint soooooooooo.

the hood i will not paint as it is emaculate, the center and dually fenders will be 2000 subaru timberline green pearl, and the bottom will match the hood.

if my interior would have been tan i would have went with green and tan.

thanks

1STGENFARMBOY 07-10-2011 08:01 AM

i don't have a build thread...what do you need to know ? ?

jdbigblue12v 07-11-2011 12:12 AM

i saw a picture on i think DTR of your truck whem you got the dually bed on i thought there was a build thread would of been intersting to read through and did you make your own Y pipe for the stacks??

1STGENFARMBOY 07-11-2011 09:31 AM

no it was already on the truck when i bought it, but i think it was a silverline exaust,

i traided that set of stacks to a friend for some parts so when i build my next set it will be a piece of 7in square tubing in the bed with the miters comming off of it.

alot more stable without doing braces at the top of the bed

jdbigblue12v 07-11-2011 12:51 PM

thats a good idea i might use it when i put on my 5'' aussies

98cummins 07-11-2011 01:51 PM

My brother and I built my stack Y pipe and it was actually really easy. We just took to elbows the size i wanted and then left one long and cut a section out of the long one equal to half of the pipe. then cut the other one short and cut half of it off and welded them together. LOL his elbow looked better when he was done with it then the one I took a picture of for the pattern.

1STGENFARMBOY 07-11-2011 02:27 PM

Yeh i have built a couple of Y's but i think this square tubing will take up less room in the bed, plus i'm gona weld everything together so it's easy to take out when i gota haul my camper.

Dar

jdbigblue12v 07-11-2011 10:24 PM

98 cummins- i had the same exact idea and it would just be easier to use the square tube

98cummins 07-11-2011 10:54 PM

thats cool I welded two angle irons on the bottom to support it on the bed of the truck to make it easy to remove if need be. I wonder what it would sound like through square tube?:humm:

1STGENFARMBOY 07-12-2011 10:16 AM

If you use big tube it will be quieter, if that kinda thing is what you want.

almost acting like a muffler, thats what i think anyhow, so i will try it out.
