Skinny tires
Unfortunately, fuel keeps going up in price so in order to save fuel, how skinny can I go? I've been specifically looking at 215/85/16 load range E tires. These tires have a weight rating of 2680 lbs. Any experiences with these types of tires on a truck with a heavy front end?
i dont really know about those size of tires but the factory tires on these trucks is 235 85 r 16 so that is the best for load range and fuel econmy as far as i know so i hope this helps if not let me know what you find out im always trying to find new ways to save fuel
My motor is already turning plenty slow. I've got a Gear Vendors overdrive and currently, the engine turns over at 1320 rpm's at 60 mph. I'm getting 26 mpg but want to pick up a few more mpg's but also want to make sure I don't run into problems running too narrow of a tire. Problems I can think of are excessive tire wear and terrible handling. So I was wondering if anybody has run a skinny 215/85/16 tire and how did it work out?
Cool, thanks for the response. Just to confirm, do you run these tires (215/85/16) up front as well?
