90 w250 with 93 motor

So how do I know what IP I have. THe truck is a 90 the motor a 93. I was told it has the 93 injectors and pump. With the 90 non-intercooled intake/turbo etc.. I would also like to know what tranny I have. It is a 3 spd auto. I was told 727, but I find that hard to believe. I just got the truck and it would be my 4th or 5th diesel. I love the sound of the 6BT though. I got truck for 700 bucks thought I would sale it and make some money. I might just have to keep it though. Wife will probably kill me. Come to think of it my daughters might to. Long story. :argh:

:welcome::hi: It appears you've been mis-informed... sort of. The IP's for all 1st gen's are the same; Bosch VE. The only difference is whether it has a throttle position sensor, (TPS) to it or not. The TPS came on the 91.5, (I think?!) through '93 trucks with the A518 auto tranny. It's essentially a 727 with an overdrive unit attached. You do have a 727 in yours, being a 3 speed.
The injectors are likely the '93 ones, as they had a smaller body than the '90 and aren't a direct fit. They flow a shade less fuel, and are one of the first things folks tend to upgrade.

...Seems kinda weird to have a '93 block and a '90, (non-IC) turbo/intake etc. :s:

TIming gears went kaput in 90. Instead of fixing gears he put long block out of junkyard truck in. Donor truck only had 103k on it when he swapped. I don't know why he did not get the intercooler and stuff with that motor. As far as I know it is the 90 turbo. Is the turbo different on the 93 or just the configuration?

Actually, I can't remember. :argh: I know mine has an 18cm2 turbine housing. They, (Cummins) also made some of the 1st gen's with a 21cm2 turbine housing, commonly referred to as the Lagmeister/Lagmaster. I can't recall which years they came on, but if you look on your housing it'll be stamped on it, usually on the underside... of course. :td: Mirrors on sticks are a great invention! :jump:
