want a 1st gen

Im gonna drive about 20 miles from my house and make an offer on a first gen 250 4x4 that is mint. I even knocked on the door about 5 years ago to offer buying it. An old man has owned it forever,I think its a 93 and it is cherry. He has a newer cummins that is always parked outside and the old truck has always been garaged. This is the nicest one ive seen. How much should i offer? I dont want to piss him off by lowballing him and want the truck for my son whos almost 2. I know, but want it in my garage until he gets it.Maybe ill take a little drive in it every now and then. I think I would offer 5 grand cash, what could it be worth? dont know all the details, but under 80k miles im sure,MINT! Help

ya but if its an old man and hes not up with everything like we all are he might not know they can go for that much and you might get away with something like 7-8. personally i think alot of people are over valuing our trucks. if i was looking in to getting a first gen today i probly would bother unless it was a really good deal. for 10-14k you can get alot newer truck with lower miles like a 2nd gen or possibly 3rd gen in a few years. but on the other side you can make some money off em if you bought a truck back when they were cheaper lol. :c:

I have an 07 5.9 quad cab 4x4 g56 2500 with 73000 miles on her, shes still like new. I just want a first gen to play with and build up for my son when hes old enough to have it.Hes not quite 2 yet,but these 1st gen trucks will be gone in 10 years.
