its all about your foot. if you step on it all the time, all the smoke is is your unburned diesel fuel. if you keep your foot out and produce minimal smoke your milage should not suffer. mine stayed exactly the same when i turned it up AND put a denny t pin in. if i drive it hard though it eats more fuel then it did. but thats alright because the performance is worth it.:c:

I would blow as much black smoke as i could...

that way it will speed up the clean air laws and we can park our trucks for good.:td::argh:

Its a Southern thing...... I guess you Yankees dont have any country gals up there :c:

And take my word, I never blow smoke in bigger towns, but theres not a soul in Rattan, Oklahoma that could give a crap about clean air laws. Theres times that smoke is DEFINATELY not appropriate, dont confuse me with some 16 year old punk that cares about smoke and smoke alone, but its ok to roll some every now and then. Personally, Im a half broke college student and utilize every drop of diesel I put in my truck to help it move, and not blow it out the tailpipe :hellox:

Smoke is just wasted fuel. Real power has nothing to do with how much smoke you make. My truck could club yours like a baby seal but I know I make less smoke. I ALWAYS feel like a douchebag when I smoke out cars at an intersection on accident. Damn fun pedal. I personally think its very rude. That's why I want stacks.

Completely agree with you about smokin out cars and the stacks. Same reason I want one/them.

Lol. The trick is to turn up the pump nicey-nice, but then actually tune the smoke down to a minimum. Smoke just generally means you haven't built boost yet and you're just throwing fuel out the tailpipe. You might as well grab a stack of ones and burn them and watch that smoke.

The old girl doesnt do too bad for me... only time i actually was a prick and smoked someone out i was in bumper to bump traffic and some :c: kept cutting me off... smoke screen allowed me to get in front of them and to my exit... since then i've de-tuned and re-tuned the truck... she puffs a little bit on a hard take off and WOT is a little bit under a grey haze. turbo lag isnt too bad considering its the stocker lol. turbo upgrades open up a whole new world of acceptable smoke to power ratios, unfortunately im still stuck at the "might as well have a plastic bag over my filter" ratio hahaha

Exactly that and the smoke screw.

Starwheel= low boost fueling
Smoke screw= no boost fueling

I dont think its hard to tune one of these right, a lot of people just dont take the time.
