32k gov spring, gauges, free horsepower (pump tweaks), fuel pin..... whatever you want! You cant really make outrageous power on a VE but plenty enough to make you happy. If you ever get to the point where your sick of the VE, do a p-pump swap. See sticky's at the top of the first gen threads for all the info you would like to know! Happy bombing :c:

Thanks guys also what kinda hp can I get otta the ve with no money spent and how much will the stock clutch hold and what kinda five speed trans do they have

901stgen 02-04-2011 12:48 PM

The 5 speed is a getrag, not real sure how much the stock clutch can hold. As far as making free power off of the VE, every truck is different.

If it has the stock Sachs (cast iron clutch cover) it'll hold all the power you can push with a VE.
200 horse is fairly easy, much above 350 and it gets hard to make horsepower on a VE real fast.
A 500 horsepower VE is unusual and usually has had a lot of re-working to get there.

You can spend $600.00 and should be able to get 250 hp out of it.

some used injectors and a turbo upgrade and a cheep electric lift pump.

But first get a pyro and fuel preshure gauge.

or thats what i think anyway.
