They're all a pain bud! No, If you like to tinker on cars you should't nave a problem, just time and a few $$$. Check out the "diesel conversions" section farther up on the home page, great info on there

installing the motor isn't the problem. it would be the front end holding the weight (it is 1100 lbs) that truck either had a 10 bolt or a 44 the cummins has a gear driven steering pump, so there is no forgivness in the components. you should also beef up the frame around the box. let me tell ya it's a hell of alot better to drive. I would look around for a dana 60 for up front, mine has worked flawless. good luck on your swap :choochoo::choochoo:

I have a cummins in my 79 chevy U better reinforce the frame mine is twisted pretty good in the rear one side sits a little over 2 inches higher than the other side. I just have a stock 10 bolt front axle no problems in 2 years in the rear I have a disc brake dana 70

I put mine in an 89 2500 and still had some adding to do to make it stronger if you could find a 3/4 ton alot of the beef is already there ;):jump:

Here's a picture of how the Cummins fits in my 1990 square body Suburban. It's backed by a NV5600 6 speed manual and gear vendors overdrive.
