New Injectors, I Think?

Hi, All;

I bought some injectors off ebay for my 91.5 dodge/cummins as it's been sluggish and blowing a puff of black smoke on warm startup, and puffs when it's pushing hard, so I figure it's time for some new ones. I've got 90k miles and no modifications yet. The description said for 91-93 dodges, and that they were good for another 40-50 hp and 3 mpg.

Now I've got them in hand and wondering why the numbers on the box don't match what's on the injectors. The box says Bosch 1 St/Pc conj. porta injetor 0 432 131 837 -741 made in Brazil. The injectors are marked 9350 at the end and on the body are marked Brasil KDAL 59P5 692 14 then next line 245 bar and 908 in an oval.

They look to be about the right size, and I haven't started the replacement job yet.

Does anyone have any info on these and know whether these are right for my truck or not?

Thx, Mike

call any certified bosch dealer and have them run the numbers. the sluggishness and the black smoke on start up are every truck, those injectors, along with a 3200 governor spring and some pump tweaking will net you some good horsepower, along with a better filter and exhaust......your lucky, you got a intercooler, but we got the bigger injectors....

I mean a BIG puff of black smoke on startup. A cloud that almost envelopes whoever's parked next to me. Kinda embarassing.

The smaller injectors I don't mind. From what I've read they're plenty big enough. It's the giant turbo case (21cm) I'll have to change to get it drivable.

Which injectors did you get? I've been debating on the injectors that thedieseldude sells on ebay. They're rebuilt units, which could be the different part # deal. Good luck with the swap.

Item number: 150180199696 sold by performancepro1, a place in Utah. They're supposed to be new, but the numbers don't match the box to my knowledge. I don't know enough to help you about DieselDude's stuff, I'm just getting into this by need rather than choice.

And thanx, if I'm careful and lucky, this might just happen as soon as the wind lets up. I can see some pump tweaking coming up, but after I get some gauges.

you can tweak your pump without gauges, SLIGHT tweaking, but you can tweak, my idle screw is back all the way out, i need to reindex my throttle shaft before i can add anymore fuel screw, if your not towing or hauling, you can get away with not having gauges, but if hauling, GET THEM!!!!!

Hey, hauling is what this truck was made for (though I have my doubts about that 3.07 rear).

Injectors went in okay, idles smoother, exhaust is sweeter. 1st step complete.

Maybe with little small tires.

my 265's do just fine, well of course anything over a 33 and you will loose power, you will on most vehicles......
