Need some help....
Check this out for me, is this a typo or is there really such thing as a thermal overdrive switch? Going to look at it this weekend so just wondering what you guys think of it.

I think he might be talking about the temp sensor that tells:tu: it when its warm enough to shift into od.

that makes sence, but i cant find the part if it exists. i guess i'll keep waiting to hear from the guy but i just wanted to do some research on it and nothing popped up in the search box.

There is a switch in the hot side cooler line that he may be talking about. Its goal is to shut off OD if the temp gets retardedly high (something like 290 or some other number that is too high anyway.) If that is the one, I believe the switch is normally closed, so you could just jump the terminals to make the truck think the switch is working.
I took mine out and just zipped tied it to the frame and stuck my gauge sender in its place. |
So it will shift like its supposed to, its just in case it gets hot. Thanks! Thats a good idea for a trans temp gauge, i'll have to remember that.
