4" or 5" exhaust

I'm in the middle of my project and I want to run 5" but my buddy keeps saying 4" is better so I wanted to hear everyones input:pca1:

well my names daniel i have a 93 12v and i just put diamond eye 4in all the way back no muf and let me tell u holy shit a friend of mind has a common rail with 5in but he has 600 to the wheel i probly have3 to350 from what ATS saids what pump do u have

untill you reach about the 500hp level the 5 inch exhaust will actually hurt power output, not a lot but enought to notice on a dyno, if your goals are to reach that power then go for the 5 inch because i always hate buying parts twice ya know :tu:

JBradley500 01-07-2011 07:52 AM

with a ve pump correct? unless youve got twin turbos, 5" exhaust is just a way to spend more money.

How do you plan on getting it to fit? If your going to a exhaust shop you will have a hard time finding one to bend 4" unless they are a big truck shop and never seen one that can bend 5", I'm sure someone can though.

I would just do 4"

CARP 01-08-2011 01:52 PM

Run 4 all the way back, get a 5 or 6 inch tip. https://www.dieselbombers.com/images...shechka_08.gif

I can fit 5" no problem and I am doing it all my self NO shop is ever gonna touch my blazer

RSWORDS 01-09-2011 11:33 AM

:U:

Keep us up to date in fitting it! Take pics and show us how you did it, not many of us have the ability to do our own exhaust. It would be a good learning experience.

CARP 01-09-2011 11:46 AM

Yeah! We gotta see pics of the Cummins Blazer! :up2:

Oh ya check them out in diesel engine conversions I don't have pics of the exhaust yet only cause I'm not that far yet if I had a computer I would put them now but I only have iPhone lol
