92 dodge trans Problems
 

I am looking at getting a 92 ext cab dually but it has a minor issue the trans will hang up in 1st and 2nd gear it is a 5 speed standard the guy said if you hold the shifter towards you it wont hang up but if it hangs up you have to pull the shifter out and get some snbap ring pliers and do something to it to unhang it. I was just wondering if this is a minor or major problem before i decide to get this truck any advice would help thanks

Mine did the same thing a while back,i took the snap ring out and found that the shaft on the stick that goes down in the tranny had broke off before and had been poorly welded back on and had bent over a little. There is a small tit sticking up between the shift levers, with the bottom of the shifter being bent it was hitting this little tit and causing it to hang or not go into gear at all unless moved just right. I took and grinded the bad weld completely cleaned it up good put it back in straight position welded grinded back down flush problem solved. Maybe what that one is doin.
