Reverse psychology?
The other day I turned the fuel screw out a little over a turn to lower my idle on my 93 a little, and the pump was hanging at high rpms a little more than I cared for. And gained 10 lbs of boost! This pumps fuel screw could be bottomed without runaway, and it'd make only 19 psi, so I lengthened the screw about 3/16". It has all the usual mods, full throttle travel, ground pin, starwheel bottomed, washer gone, 366 spring, 4 hole 190's. The longer screw gained me 1 psi, big gain in throttle response and low end power, but next to no difference on the top end. I made sure the horizontal fuel pin was moving freely, even pulled the side plug and lubed it for good measure. Idling about 950, 1/2 turn from runaway. So how did turning the pump down a full turn from this point get me up to 30 psi? At 20, I could get the stock LP down to 1 psi, now it hits 30 psi just before it runs out of fuel pressure. I turned it down while it was running, though I don't think that makes any difference.. :s:
