what harmonic dampner are you using at 4000rpm?
I've got a ppumped '93 12v, and I want to install a 4k governor kit, I noticed that the '96 engine I got the ppump from has a larger harmonic dampner.
Do you guys just use the factory dampner at high rpms? It looks like the dampners on these engines are neutrally balanced since there is no way of indexing them to the crank, so is it safe to use the larger dampner on my engine?

Well I looked at the fluidampr website and it looks like all 12v cummins are internally balanced, so I should be safe with either dampner.
How do you like the fluidampr? Did you notice a difference?

No seat-of-the-pants improvement parse. The engine does idle smoother and seems to wind-up easier, if that makes sense. 
FYI: A viscus-fluid type harmonic damper (like the Fluidampr) is standard equipment on the marine and some industrial Cummins 4bts and 6bts. It's maintenance is covered in the Cummins service manual.
