ok. thanks for the imput. i was thinking about the 60lb valve springs. i dont know to much 0about the tophat valve seals. whats that for? just a better seal?

The tophats give a better seal and have a flange that fits under the valve spring and holds the seal down. All the complete head gasket sets I've seen come with the tophat seals and you have to buy the old style ones separate at a cost of about $50 for the set if you want to use them.

I've also heard that a head with tophats has less chance of cracking, because of having a radius machined around the valve seat instead of a square cut. I couldn't confirm that though.

oh ok. i would probly do that then because i think im gunna buy a whole kit. im currently looking at the kit from BBD Performance along with the 60lb springs.
