turbo swap

I have a turbo off a 98 12v and I am wondering if I should swap it on to my 93 CTD. Is this worthwhile or a waste of time?

If its free then yes I think its worth it. Little bit more air, better spool up. I would go for it!

Yes it's a take off from a motor I'm swapping into a 78 4x4. Looks like I'll try it out. Will it bolt up to the the stock down pipe?

dose it have the V-band? or the elbow on the back of the exhaust housing?

It has a cast elbow atached to the turbo housing by a clamp I assume it is a v band.

Well I finally got off my butt and did the swap. Just one little thing left to do. I still have to plumb the waste gate up to the intake manifold. I took it for a little run any ways and it does spool quick. I didn't get into the throttle too much. I'll hook up the wg tonight then try it out towing my race car tomorrow.

there should be a port on the compressor housing for it if you want a boost elbow for it let me know as I bought one for myself and never put it on its way more fun lol

Yea that's the plan. I'll try to do something like the 98 motor had. Probably put a tee off the fitting where the boost gauge is plumbed to.
