dont buy those crappy ebay turbos... its not what you want.

Those ebay Hx-40s are cheap Chinese JUNK. Dont waste your money or time.

x3. HX40's are awesome, if you get the right one. Those fleabay things are nasty. Kinda depends what you're running at the moment. If you have a stocker, anything is an improvement! HX35 or an HX40 would be a good start. HE351CW is the buisness, from what I've read. If all you're doing is upgrading your turbo with a single, you won't need to stud your head. 35-40 psi is good on regular bolts, IIRC. Anything above that, sustained, is going to require studs, unless you've got big plans in the future... well, we all have big plans, don't we?!

my personal opinion is hx40's suck. but thats just my opinion. and 500 bucks isnt really going to get you a turbo your going to be happy with. cant even find used ones for that price range for decent turbo. hell even an hx40 starts around 900 for a new one. if you are firm on staying around 500, get an he351 or an hx35 because after buying a turbo and downpipe thats where youll be at. but if you dont buy headstuds(which you dont even need with a single really if you tune it right) spend that money and actually get a decent turbo like a phatshaft or a super b or something

what do yall think about a H1C with a 60mm compressor and a 14cm non WG housing?

its definitely an upgrade from a normal h1c but theyre still just not very efficient turbos overall. i would do an he351 before i did a 60mm upgrade

I put a 12cm hx35 exh. housing on my stock h1c and works great for a stocker. Nice whistle and quick spool. Wired the wg shut and it still only hits about 28 psi under hard pull. From what I heard, I wouldn't use a 12cm if your going to mod the motor, egt will soar
