Quick intercooler Question

so my 93 intercooler has a leak in the core:w: but gives me an excuse to upgrade right?so i have two options that are same in price,a 2001 powerstroke(aluminum end tanks) intercooler or a 2nd gen 24v cummins cooler and i was just wondering which is more efficient and less restrictive.TIA

Check with after market guy like BD they have high flow intercoolers that will fit your truck.

Aluminium end tanks are good and a must have if you want to run higher pressures.
Are there differences in the construction of both intercoolers?
Two types are available:
the cheap tube and fin and the expensive bar and plate.
If both are the same type- just compare absolute volume.
The bigger the better, easy as that.
If both have nearly the same volume choose that one that is less obstructed with less cramped in-and outtakes.
Remember- flow is important!

well im pretty sure both are tube and fin because they are stock.and from what i know,Tube and fin have better external aerodynamics, but poorer internal aerodynamics. However, you can overcome the poor internal aerodynamics by using a core with more rows.and the 24v cooler core is 24"x16.5"x2.5" compared to the powerstroke core 30"x18"x2".Both are a way bigger improvement over the 30"x12"x1-5/8 stock 1st gen.Powerstroke it is! Thanks guys:rocking:
